 | About Us
Penny and Garey share a love and facination of all animals and a preference for the simpler, natural world.
Having spent enough time in large cities, the Wagners now truly appreciate life in their small mountain town. Penny works from her home studio with her three felline mentors and critics, while Garey can almost always be found in their downtown gallery on Main Street.
Vivid colors, strong images, intimate close-ups, mixed with a sense of empathy and respect, plus a touch of irony, a bit of fantasy and of course...the joy of humor are Penny’s way of depicting her view of the world while confirming her belief that humans and all creatures are deeply connected...and that closer inspection only reveals just how similiar our motivations, feelings and emotions actually are.
Self-taught Penny spent her early career years in her own graphic design business following her first art-related job at the Kennedy Space Center as a techniical illustrator during the Moonshot era. Five interesting years later, she escaped with relatively few scars and a healthy determination never to work for the government or any large organization again ...and a number of good stories.
With his background in engineering, antique trading and retail management ....Garey quickly taught himself the framing business, developing his own unique matting styles and techniques. His many long hours spent as a boy in the Starved Rock State Park, adjacent to his home in northern Illinois, along with his keen eye for observation and attention to detail, have served as inspiration for his many product and display designs throughout their gallery. | | |
